Audio: “Good Morning” by John Legend

September 30, 2008

This new song is called “Good Morning”, it reminds me of some of the slower stuff from his last album. This song didn’t really hit me like “It’s Over” did, but I remain positive that”Evolver” will turn out awesome.

Check out “Good Morning” here.

Audio: “In Love With Another Man” by Jazmine Sullivan

September 30, 2008

Full review of “Fearless” coming soon, but until then, please use this song as an example of “do not judge of song by how it begins”, meaning, really wait till the end because Jazmine really gets it to build and really, I feel, showcases the emotion that comes with having to tell someone how you really feel about difficult situation.

Check it out here.

Video: Josh Groban at the Emmy Awards

September 22, 2008

First off, that’s cool that the Emmys took the time to showcase all the great theme songs that have come and gone (I am a little disappointed the theme songs to “Moesha” and “Sister Sister” did not make the cut. Where’s the love, Emmys?).

And I’m not saying Josh Groban is on par with Paris Hilton in terms of overall wackness and singing ability, like he is geniunely talented, and that’s cool he brings opera to the younger masses, much like Charlotte Church.

But out of all the people to give 4 minutes and 30 seconds of primetime air to? You pick him? Not like a trendy up-and-comer? I’d take Rihanna over this dude (can you imagine her throwing “ella ella ella” in the middle of whistling the theme for “The Andy Griffith Show”?

I can and I am surprisingly quite okay with it if it means Josh in watching from the audience and not on stage)

Basically, picking a known Opera singer with a huge voice to do theme songs came across, to me, as more of a satire versus an actual tribute to these great songs.

What do you think?

Audio: Kanye and John Legend for “Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement”

September 21, 2008

2 new songs featured on the “Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement” CD which benefits Senator Barack Obama’s campaign for President.

Kanye, along with poet Malik Yusef and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, contribute “Promised Land” (which can be heard here) and John Legend shows up for “Pride In The Name of Love” (check it out here)

Even though these tracks have surfaced, please find a way to donate to Barack’s historic campaign, and please Barack the Vote.
